Shadow's End Review

5 Stars

Catwin and Miriel have ran away from Court. The King has just been killed and Miriel that was the Queen in Waiting is still in danger. Catwin a Shadow protects her with skill and sometimes deadly force. Miriel who is a rebel sympathizer that was going to try to sway the king after marriage is now unsure of how she will help the rebel cause and bring peace to the court. The girls run away with only half knowing where the rebels are. They get lucky and stumble upon a group.  There is a lot of mistrust between the girls and the rebels but a treaty is written and the girls plan to take it back to court and the new king Miriel's secret hearts desire.  Will he sign it and bring in a new peaceful age? Catwin has the prophecy her mother foretold still looming over her. The Ultimate betrayal awaits her when they get back to court. Love, Loss, Betrayal, Acceptance this book and the two before it have it all. The journey these two go through is a real page turner. I couldn't put them down. Catwin is one of my top Five YA heroine's.
